Microwave Filter Based on Split Ring Resonators

Abstract

The design and simulations of a compact 3-pole Chebyshev filter using dielectric split ring resonators (DSRR), is explained. The DSRR filter is designed based on the method of coupled resonator filter. This filter is high unloaded quality factor (Qu is about 19000), small size, and high performance suitable for mobile communication. The filer has a bandwidth of 50 MHz, centred at 2.26 and return loss about -20 dB.
